Sinclair HC Porcelain Sign – Dinosaur, Navy Ship, 11 3/4″ x 17 3/4″

This Sinclair porcelain sign is packed with detail: a big orange dinosaur stands in a tropical scene beside a Sinclair HC service station, while a Navy destroyer, a train and airplanes fill the horizon. Banners read “Sinclair Wins U.S. Navy Oil Contract” and “Sinclair Brings Dinosaurs to Life,” with a map and the Sinclair name in the corner.

Sinclair Oil was founded in 1916, and its life-size dinosaur exhibit drew big crowds at the 1933 Chicago World’s Fair. HC stood for its high compression gasoline. It is real porcelain, made with glass enamel fired onto steel, so the finish is hard, glossy and built to last. It looks great in a garage, a shop, an office or a man cave, and makes a great gift for anyone who loves dinosaurs or gas station history.
