Mobilgas Gargoyle Porcelain Sign – Filling Station Scene, 11 3/4″

This Mobilgas porcelain sign shows a busy filling station: an attendant fills a green touring car at a row of pumps marked Mobilgas, while a hanging Mobilgas and Mobiloil Gargoyle sign from the Vacuum Oil Company swings out front. “Mobil” and “Mobilgas” frame the scene in red, green, white and black.

The Vacuum Oil Company was founded in 1866 in Rochester, New York, and its red Gargoyle trademark was the face of Mobiloil for years. It is real porcelain, made with glass enamel fired onto heavy gauge steel, so the finish is hard, glossy and built to last. Hang it in a garage, a shop or a man cave, or give it to the classic car owner who likes gas station scenes.
