Description
A pinup girl in a red dress rolling a fresh tire is a sure way to get noticed at the tire shop. This vintage Firestone Tires porcelain sign features the pinup with a flower in her hair and a tire with deep tread, with “Most Miles per Dollar” under her, the red Firestone Tires script at the top and Sales and Service around a blue rim, on an 11 3/4″ round face.
Harvey Firestone founded the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company in Akron, Ohio, in 1900, and became a close friend of Henry Ford, supplying tires for Ford cars. “Most Miles per Dollar” was a Firestone slogan for years. This sign is real porcelain, made with glass enamel fired onto heavy gauge steel in a classic old design, for a hard, glossy finish built to last. It’s a great piece for a garage, a tire shop, a man cave or a collection of pinup signs.
