Description
This vintage Route 66 porcelain sign shows a showgirl in a top hat and tails kicking up her heels beside a winding road, with a grinning driver in a little orange car behind her. “Route 66” is lettered in white across an orange band at the top, “I Get My Kicks on Route 66” sits beside her, and “Main Street of America” runs along the right.
Route 66 opened in 1926, ran from Chicago to Los Angeles and earned the nickname the Main Street of America, and the 1946 song made getting your kicks there famous. It is real porcelain, made with glass enamel fired onto heavy gauge steel, so the finish is hard, glossy and built to last. Hang it in a garage, a diner, a bar or a man cave, and give it to a road trip fan or anyone who has driven the Mother Road.
