This is a vintage Smokey Bear Prevent Wildfires porcelain sign (also known as a Smokey Bear porcelain prevention campaign pump plate), measuring 12 inches round. It features the iconic 1951 Smokey Bear design: Smokey the Bear in his classic ranger hat labeled “SMOKEY”, holding a shovel, friendly face centered on a white/green background, “PROTECT OUR FORESTS” arched at the top in white, “PREVENT WILDFIRES” in bold green at the bottom, U.S. Forest Service shields on both sides, and “1951” date marking — a classic Smokey Bear wildfire prevention public service advertising sign.
Made of porcelain enamel on steel with patina and wear: rust spotting around the mounting holes, minor edge chips, light surface scratches, and minimal discoloration. This is a porcelain enamel advertising sign in excellent condition, exactly as shown in the photos.
