Super Clark’s Gas Superman Porcelain Sign – June 1938, 12″

This Super Clark’s Gas porcelain sign borrows a famous comic book scene: Superman, red cape flying, lifts a green car over his head and smashes it into a rock while startled onlookers run for cover. “Super Clark’s” is lettered across the top in black, “Gas” in big script below, and “June, 1938” sits near the bottom of the warm yellow and peach field.

June 1938 is the cover date of Action Comics No. 1, Superman’s first appearance, and “Clark’s” is a nod to his everyday name, Clark Kent. It is real porcelain, made with glass enamel fired onto heavy gauge steel, so the finish is hard, glossy and built to last. It looks great in a garage, a game room or a man cave, and it makes a fun gift for a Superman fan, a comic book reader or anyone who loves gas station signs.
