Vintage Pennzoil Porcelain Sign – Sound Your Z Racing Scene, 11 3/4

Racing planes, race cars and speedboats all on one sign, with Pennzoil behind the action. This vintage Pennzoil Motor Oil porcelain sign features the Pennzoil name and bell logo, a red racing plane, a race car and a speedboat with the “Sound Your Z” slogan, beside a classic fuel station scene, in red, yellow and black on an 11 3/4″ round face.

Pennzoil took its name from the Pennsylvania crude oil it was refined from, and its bell logo is a nod to the Liberty Bell. The catchy “Sound Your Z” ads played on the Z in the name and made the brand easy to remember. This sign is real porcelain, made with glass enamel fired onto heavy gauge steel for a glossy finish built to last. It’s a great piece for a garage, a shop, a race fan’s wall or a collection of motor oil signs.
