Description
This is a vintage Boston Maine Central Vermont Airways porcelain sign (also known as a BM-CV Airways hangar pump plate), measuring 11 3/4 inches round. It features the classic 1930s aviation branding: “BOSTON MAINE-CENTRAL VERMONT” arched at the top in yellow on blue/red, a central cartoon pilot in red cape and hat standing on a silver twin-engine plane with lightning bolts, “AIRWAYS” at the bottom in yellow, “Making a Neighborhood of the Northeast” slogan on red ribbon, yellow stars and circular border — a classic Boston Maine Central Vermont Airways advertising sign.
Made of porcelain enamel on steel with patina and wear: rust spotting around the mounting holes, minor edge chips, light surface scratches, and minimal discoloration. This is a porcelain enamel advertising sign in excellent condition, exactly as shown in the photos.
This vintage Boston Maine Airways pilot sign makes a great addition to a garage, shop display, man cave, or any aviation memorabilia collection, vintage airline advertising collection, Northeast regional airline sign collection, or retro travel sign collection.
