This vintage Yosemite National Park porcelain sign features Half Dome with a rider on horseback and tall pines in the foreground, with Yosemite National Park across the top and “California’s All-Year Playland” along the bottom, in green and black on an 11 3/4″ round face with excellent colors and lettering.
Yosemite was first set aside for protection in 1864, when President Lincoln signed the Yosemite Grant, and it became a national park in 1890 thanks in part to naturalist John Muir. Half Dome, El Capitan and the valley waterfalls still draw climbers and road trippers from around the world. This sign is real porcelain, made with glass enamel fired onto heavy gauge steel in a classic old design, for a glossy, durable finish built to last. It’s a great piece for a cabin, a den, a travel collection or any national park fan.
