Description
Out on the farm, the right tractor tires meant getting through a muddy spring field. This vintage Firestone Tires porcelain sign features the neat graphic of the Firestone Ground Grip farm tire, with “Ground Grip” across the top, “Farm Tires” along the bottom and the Firestone name in the center, on a 12″ round face with vibrant colors.
Harvey Firestone founded the Firestone Tire & Rubber Company in Akron, Ohio, in 1900, and the company helped bring air-filled rubber tires to farm tractors in the 1930s. The Ground Grip tread, with its deep, angled bars, became a familiar sight in fields across the country. This sign is real porcelain, made with glass enamel fired onto metal for a glossy, durable surface made to last. It’s a great fit for a barn, a shop, a garage or a collection of tire and farm signs.
