Description
Mickey Mouse marching off with a rifle over his arm is a cartoon twist on a classic gun ad. This vintage Ithaca Guns porcelain sign features Mickey in a red hat with a bright feather and a red jacket, carrying his rifle, with Hammer and Hammerless on each side, bold Ithaca Guns lettering and “Every Gun Warranted” on a tan panel below, on a green 12″ round face.
The Ithaca Gun Company was founded in Ithaca, New York, in 1880, and its shotguns earned a loyal following with bird hunters. Hammer and hammerless guns gave buyers a choice of action, and every gun came with a warranty. Mickey Mouse, Walt Disney’s most famous star, makes this a fun mix of cartoon and hunting art. This sign is real porcelain, made with glass enamel fired onto heavy gauge steel in a classic old design, for a hard, glossy finish built to last. It’s a great piece for a gun room, a cabin or a firearms collection.
