This is a vintage Mobiloil Gargoyle thermometer porcelain sign (also known as a vintage Mobil thermometer), measuring approximately 11 3/4 inches high by 2 1/2 inches wide (vertical thermometer shape with attached tube). It features the classic Socony-Vacuum branding: red flying Pegasus at the top, “Mobiloil” in bold black, dual-scale thermometer (°C / °F from -40 to 50°C / -40 to 120°F), red Gargoyle logo with “GARGOYLE VACUUM OIL COMPANY” at the bottom — a classic Mobiloil Gargoyle advertising thermometer sign.
Made of porcelain enamel on steel with patina and wear: rust spotting around the mounting holes, minor edge chips, light surface scratches, and minimal discoloration. This is a porcelain enamel advertising thermometer in excellent condition, exactly as shown in the photos (thermometer functional as pictured).
