Description
This is a vintage Peerless American Standard Oil porcelain sign (also known as a Peerless porcelain advertising gas pump sign), measuring 12 inches round. It features the classic Native American chief profile: a detailed headdress with red feathers centered on a deep blue background, “PEERLESS – AMERICAN” arched across the top in white on red, “STANDARD OIL COMPANY OF NEW YORK” curved at the bottom, and “NEW YORK” on the sides — a classic Standard Oil of New York (Socony) advertising sign.
Made of porcelain enamel on steel with patina and wear: rust spotting around the mounting holes, minor edge chips, light surface scratches, and minimal discoloration. This is a porcelain enamel advertising sign in excellent condition, exactly as shown in the photos.
This vintage Peerless Indian chief sign makes a great addition to a garage, shop display, man cave, or any Standard Oil memorabilia collection, vintage gas station advertising collection, or petroliana collection.
