This is a vintage Penn Reel porcelain sign (also known as a Penn Fishing Store pump plate), measuring 11 3/4 inches round. It features the classic sport fishing theme: a fisherman in brown pants, red shirt, yellow scarf, and hat reeling in a big catch with a Penn reel, blue ocean waves and distant lighthouse in the background, “Make that ‘Fish-Story’ come true with a Penn Reel” slogan arched at the top, “A Fine REEL for the Sport Fisherman” below, “REELS FOR ALL KINDS OF SALT WATER FISHING” in yellow at the bottom, “PENN FISHING TACKLE MFG. CO.” branding — a classic Penn saltwater fishing reel advertising sign.
Made of porcelain enamel on steel with patina and wear: rust spotting around the mounting holes, minor edge chips, light surface scratches, and minimal discoloration. This is a porcelain enamel advertising sign in excellent condition, exactly as shown in the photos.
