This is a vintage Smokey Bear Prevent Forest Fires porcelain sign (also known as a Smokey Bear advertising campaign pump plate), measuring 12 inches round. It features the classic U.S. Forest Service Smokey Bear design: Smokey the Bear centered in a green shield with green tree emblem, wearing his ranger hat, friendly expression, flanked by two small Smokey Bear faces on each side, “PREVENT FOREST FIRES” arched at the top and bottom in green, “PROTECT OUR FORESTS” slogan, “U.S. DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE FOREST SERVICE” text inside the shield, brown/green border — a classic Smokey Bear wildfire prevention public service advertising sign.
Made of porcelain enamel on steel with patina and wear: rust spotting around the mounting holes, minor edge chips, light surface scratches, and minimal discoloration. This is a porcelain enamel advertising sign in excellent condition, exactly as shown in the photos.
