Esso Extra Porcelain Sign – Put a Tiger in Your Tank, 11 3/4″

This Esso Extra porcelain sign shows the cartoon tiger peeking over the edge with both paws up and a big grin, under the red, white and blue Esso oval. “Put a Tiger in Your Tank!” arches across the top in white on a red ring, and “Esso Extra” curves along the bottom in blue.

Esso Extra was the brand’s premium grade, and its “Put a Tiger in Your Tank” campaign made the tiger famous with drivers around the world. It is real porcelain, made with glass enamel fired onto heavy gauge steel, so the finish is hard, glossy and built to last. The red, white and blue colors look great in a garage, a shop or a man cave, and it makes a fun gift for an Esso fan or anyone who loves gas station history.
