Description
This vintage Standard porcelain sign has “Standard Fuel Oils” in big white block letters across a deep blue field, with a white torch and a red flame rising behind the words. The bottom of the circle is bright red, and “Standard Oil Co.” and “Made in U.S.A.” are printed in small white letters along the edge.
The torch and flame were a Standard Oil symbol, and Standard sold heating oil as well as gasoline to homes and farms across the Midwest. It is real porcelain, made with glass enamel fired onto heavy gauge steel, porcelain on front and back, so the finish is hard, glossy and built to last. The red, white and blue colors look great in a garage, a farmhouse, a shop or a man cave, and it makes a great gift for a Standard Oil fan, a farmer or anyone who loves classic gas and oil signs.
