Description
This vintage Esso porcelain sign shows the friendly Esso tiger with his striped tail and big grin, standing on the right side of a white field. The red Esso script sweeps across the top, and “Put a Tiger in Your Tank!” is lettered in black on the left, all inside a blue double ring.
“Put a Tiger in Your Tank” was one of the most famous gas slogans of the 1960s, and the cartoon tiger made Esso a household name. It is real porcelain, made with glass enamel fired onto heavy gauge steel, so the finish is hard, glossy and built to last. It looks great on a garage wall, in a shop, a kid’s room or a man cave, and it makes a fun gift for an Esso fan, a car guy or anyone who loves classic advertising.
