Vintage Mobilgas Socony Vacuum Porcelain Sign – Pegasus Shield, 12″

This vintage Mobilgas porcelain sign shows the red flying horse, Pegasus, in full gallop across the top of a white shield. “Mobilgas” is lettered in heavy navy letters across the middle, with “Socony Vacuum” in small red letters below, and a navy border follows the curve of the shield.

Mobilgas was sold by the Socony-Vacuum Oil Company, which later became Mobil, and its flying red horse was a familiar sight above stations across the country. It is real porcelain, made with glass enamel fired onto heavy gauge steel, so the finish is hard, glossy and built to last. It is an easy fit for a garage, a shop, a bar or a man cave, and it makes a great gift for a Mobil fan or anyone who loves gas station signs.
