Description
This vintage Phillips 66 porcelain sign is cut in the classic shield shape, with “Phillips” in bold black letters across the white top and a huge white “66” on a bright red field below, framed by a black border.
Phillips Petroleum opened its first gas station in Wichita, Kansas in 1927, and the shield shape was taken from the Route 66 highway markers. It is real porcelain, made with glass enamel fired onto heavy gauge steel, porcelain on front and back, so the finish is hard, glossy and built to last. The red, white and black colors look great in a garage, a shop, a bar or a man cave, and it makes a perfect gift for a Phillips 66 fan, a Route 66 traveler or anyone who loves classic gas station signs.
