Description
This Esso porcelain sign is all about the tiger: a big, friendly orange and black striped face with wide eyes and long whiskers fills most of the white field. “Put a Tiger” sits across the top, the red, white and blue Esso oval is tucked in at the lower right, and “In Your Tank!” runs along the bottom.
Esso’s tiger campaign of the 1960s was so popular that drivers tied tiger tails to their gas caps. It is real porcelain, made with glass enamel fired onto heavy gauge steel, so the finish is hard, glossy and built to last. It is a fun fit for a garage, a shop, a kid’s room or a man cave, and it makes a great gift for an Esso fan, a car guy or anyone who loves classic advertising characters.
