Description
Down at the marina, the fuel dock with the flying red horse was where boats tied up before a day on the water. This vintage Mobilgas Marine porcelain sign features the Pegasus shield at the top, a marina scene with a cabin cruiser at the fuel dock, and big red Mobilgas Marine lettering, in blue, red, green and orange on an 11 3/4″ round face.
Mobil’s red Pegasus became one of the most famous trademarks in the oil business, and Mobilgas Marine was the brand’s fuel for boats at docks and marinas. A boating scene like this makes a nice change from the usual roadside station. This sign is real porcelain, made with glass enamel fired onto metal for a glossy, durable finish made to last. It’s a great piece for a lake house, a boathouse, a garage or a collection of gas and marine signs.
