Description
A yellow can of Pennzoil on the shelf was a familiar sight at service stations from coast to coast. This vintage Pennzoil porcelain sign features the yellow oil can with the red Liberty Bell, “100% Pure Pennsylvania” and “Safe Lubrication”, set over a copper sunburst, with Pennzoil across the top and Motor Oil along the bottom, in vibrant red and yellow on a 12″ round face.
Pennzoil was named for the Pennsylvania crude oil it was refined from, prized for its quality, and the bell in its logo is a nod to the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia. The yellow can became one of the most recognized packages in the motor oil business. This sign is real porcelain, made with glass enamel fired onto heavy gauge steel in a classic old design, for a hard, glossy finish built to last. It’s a great piece for a garage, a shop, a man cave or a collection of motor oil signs.
